The proposed construction works are being undertaken to address water servicing capacity needs related to future growth along the watermain alignment. The immediate driver for the upgraded watermain is fire protection for development near the intersection of Victoria Avenue and the North Service Road. The proposed watermain runs from the southwest corner of Jordan Road and Fourth Avenue and continues north along Jordan Road crossing the Canadian National Railway and Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) to North Service Road. There the watermain would turn west along the north side of North Service Road, connecting at both sides to the existing watermain crossing of Jordan Harbour. At Victoria Avenue the proposed watermain crosses the QEW south, terminating on the north side of the South Service Road. |
